the image:
An image that shows a person with a ball and another person who is waiting for that other person to pass it to her.
what about the picture?
The picture on top is able to show us what nationalism is through making this image a symbol. Let us say that these 2 people represent our Filipino citizen, and that the ball in the middle would be able to represent our Filipino culture.
So as the two keep passing the ball to each other we would be able to say that it shows how our Filipino culture is being passed on from generations to generations. So let us say that one of the person's friend comes along and calls out to talk to that person then that would mean that nobody would be able to receive the ball if ever the other person would pass it.
This could be related to our Filipino culture today because as the 3rd person (the friend of one of the two persons passing the ball to each other) calls out the person receiving the ball would be like the influences around us which would prevent us from receiving our Filipino culture.
But if that person says "wait, I'm still playing here, maybe later?" to his friend we would still be able to receive the ball thus being able to pass it back which would show us that if we wouldn't let the influences around us call us out we would still be able to pass it on to our next generation.
I find unity through this picture because just from the sight of seeing these 2 people playing together would show it already. The simple action of passing to each other would show how we entrust each other from being able to pass and receive the ball.
So remember, as long as we would be able to pass this ball to our friend then we would be able to keep our culture safe. And who knows, maybe that 3rd friend will join in the fun and that we would be able to grow by inviting more and more people to pass that ball into.
